His wonders are so delightfully mysterious.
God is full of mystery. Our lives are full of mystery when we belong to Him. We just don’t know stuff! We don’t know all that is going on inside of us or what God is planning or how He will turn events towards gifts beyond imagination.
We live with Christ in us, the Hope of Glory. Ephesians says that God has made known to us the mystery of His will. Doesn’t that sound like an oxymoron? Either we know the will of God or we don’t, right? How can knowing His will and knowing the mystery of His will be in the same sentence? It’s a mystery!
Seriously, let’s embrace mystery more. Let’s allow mystery to nurture faith, the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Another combination that makes us scratch our heads!)
Mystery opens us, humbles us, gives us hope that God is at work and we just can’t see it. But we can trust it. Listen – I think I can hear Him say, “I’ve got it. Don’t worry. I’ve got it.”
